The WIAA spring season came and went in seemingly a flash. After Sun Prairie, Jefferson, Wisconsin Heights and Lake Country Lutheran finished off their championship seasons, we’ve put together out final Power 25 Team Rankings for the 2014 season.
There was no question who the top team was, for the third straight year Coach Hamilton and the Cardinals have shown that come playoff time, they are the team to beat. Sun Prairie finished with a 27-5 record on the year, winning their third straight D1 title.
Jefferson came in just behind the Cardinals winning the D2 title in grand fashion, making short work of Viroqua 10-0 in the title game. Jefferson has been the top D2 team for a good portion of the year and never fell out of our top ten.
Lake Country Lutheran moved up to No. 7, their highest ranking of the year. After watching the Lightning on the field in the state tournament, LCL proved that they have the talent to play with the big boys and could easily compete for a title in any division.
Here’s a look at how the rest of the final Power 25 finished out.
