Big Summer Brings Big Attention To Nathan Brown

The summer is a critical time for prospects as college recruiters spend a lot of time on the road evaluating players. In Wisconsin, the high school season runs into the summer and can limit how much a player is seen. RHP Nate Brown (Arrowhead HS, WI) made a difficult choice this year and opted out of playing for Arrowhead to travel with STiKS Academy and attend showcases. One of the events Brown participated in was the Prep Baseball Report Future Games and that is where everything changed for the 6-foot-2, 180-pound junior.
Brown threw one inning on back-to-back days for Team Wisconsin and sat 88-90 mph with his fastball while showing a swing-and-miss breaking ball. He started receiving interest from programs in the ACC, Big Ten, Pac 12 and SEC and on Sept. 1—the date in which coaches can begin contacting juniors—Brown received about 25 messages.
