On Tuesday, June 23, Prep Baseball Report Virginia/DC hosted the Top Prospect Showcase-North at Patriot HS in Nokesville, VA. Uncommitted 2016 graduates showcased their skills for various colleges and the PBR staff. Here is the analysis of the middle infielders that attended the event...

Will Burgess, 2B, Washington-Lee, 2016
Hit from a balanced/athletic stance that was tall with slightly bent knees. Had a smooth load back and kept his hands high. Took a short stride and showed excellent balance throughout the swing. Had an advanced approach at the plate. Short bat path that was level with extension. Line drive stroke that was gap to gap. Uses lower half very well and had an exit velocity of 85 mph. In the field, threw from a high 3/4 arms slot with a short arm action that was accurate. Throws had some carry. Showed soft hands with quick fluid footwork. Exchanges were click and clean. Was athletic in the field and played through the ball very well. Had outstanding feel at second base and outstanding actions. Turns the double play very well. Had a positional velocity of 78 mph.
Joe DiConsiglio, SS/RHP, Yorktown, 2016
Hit from a balance/athletic stance with high hands. Had a smooth load back with a slight arm bar. Took a short stride to the ball and had a good balance throughout the swing. Had a good approach throughout the round. Showed a short swing that was slightly uphill with extension. Possesses a line drive stroke with gap to gap potential. Had slightly above-average bat speed with an exit of velocity of 80 mph. Had a good lower half and really attacked the baseball. In the field, threw from a high 3/4 arm slot was long lose arm action. Throws were accurate and had some carry. Hands were soft at position with fluid foot work and clean exchanges. Was a very fundamental fielder that had athleticism. Had a positional velocity of 78 mph.
Trey McDyre, SS, Loudoun Valley, 2016
Hit from a balance/athletic stance with a slight bend in the knees. Had a smooth load back. Took a short stride and showed excellent balance throughout the swing. Advanced approach at the plate. Bat path was short and level with extension. Has a chance to have plus power. At times tries to hit the ball to the opposite field too much. Had an explosive lower half that helped him generate explosive bat speed with an exit velocity of 94 mph. In the field, threw from a high 3/4 arm slot with the long arm action. Was a very fundamental defender with soft hands and fluid footwork. His exchanges were clean and quick. Was a very good athlete in the field that plays through the baseball. Is a natural fit to stay on the left side of the infield. Had a positional velocity of 77 mph.
Jacob Pollock, SS, Mountain View, 2016
Hit from a balanced/athletic stance that was tall. Had a smooth load back with a short stride and a slight leg kick. Maintained good balance throughout the swing. Had above average bat speed with exit velocity of 81 mph. Had a good approach during around with a short, level bat path that had extension. Has a line drive swing with a fluid rhythm. Uses a slight inward turn to generate bat speed. Made solid contact throughout the round. Sprayed the ball around the entire field. Has bat control. At times he swings around his body. In the field, threw from a high 3/4 arm slot with a long loose arm action. Throws were accurate and had carry. Had soft hands during the session, with a very fluid and methodical footwork. Exchanges were clean. Was athletic and able to play through the ball. Really attacked the baseball and had good actions. Really presented the glove well. Had a positional velocity of 79 mph.
Jordon Turner, SS, Clarke County, 2016
Hit from a balance/athletic stance with slightly bent knees. Took a simple load back with a small arm bar. Stride was short and stayed online with good balance. Took a good approach during the round. Had a short bat path that was slightly uphill with extension. Had a gap to gap swing with average bat speed. Rhythm was stiff at times. Sets up in a closed stance, which cuts off his power potential. In the field, threw from a 3/4 arm slot that was short and stiff at times. On some throws, the stiffness caused him to be inconsistent with accuracy. All correctable. Had soft hands. His footwork was quick and fluid. Exchanges were quick and clean. Played through the baseball at all times. Moved well in the field and presents the gloves very well. Very athletic. Had a positional velocity of 75 mph.
