OUTLOOK:
2014 6A State Champions Western Branch look to compete as they find a target on their back entering the 2015 season.  Gone are three starters from last year’s squad but the Bruins still have plenty to work with.  Offensively, Western Branch will continue their tradition of being aggressive, both at the plate, and on the bases.  Their "Constant Pressure" approach has served the Bruins well under the tutelage of Head Coach Roland Wright.  The Bruins will rely on Alex Abbey, Jordan Mason, Grant Miaorana, and Matthew Roth to provide firepower offensively throughout the season.  Connor Rhem (SS, 2017) will look Western Branch will need to shore up its defense up the middle after the departure of Kyle McPherson (JMU).  The Bruins should be solid on the mound with Randolph Macon commit, Colin Selby, and junior LHP, Corey Klak.  All in all, Western Branch will be fun to watch once they get rolling.
