Our staff is working to become the #1 news source for Prep Baseball across the state of Texas. Remember to follow us on twitter (@PBR_Texas) and reach out to us with any news, commitments, or your upcoming workout and game schedule. We are hosting four EVENTS this winter to allow players the opportunity to be evaluated by our staff with video, scouting reports and verified statistics.

Since the launch of Prep Baseball Report Texas, our staff has been all over the state covering games and evaluating players. We recently released our first ranking with the 2018 class. This past weekend our staff was in Tomball to cover the College Prospects Showcase Tournament. Here are three underclass pitchers that stood out this past weekend.

Bryant Salgado, IF/RHP, Klein Forest HS, 2018 (Diaz Baseball - Blue)
Approximately 6-foot-1, 185-pound frame. Athletic body with present lean muscular strength. Works from a high-¾ slot with a short, clean arm stroke. His fastball ranged from 80-86 mph with good life to the bottom of the zone at times. The slider had loose spin at 67-69 mph. The two-way player is a long stride runner with good actions on defense. Offensively he has a balanced set-up with quiet rhythm, good bat speed and a loose finish.

Armani Sanchez, IF/RHP, Reagan HS, 2019 (Hunter Pence - Danielson)
6-foot-1, 180-pound, lean, athletic frame. Works from a high-¾ arm slot with whip-like arm action. In the first inning his fastball velocity was 83-84 mph, then settled into the 79-82 mph range the rest of the game. His slider was inconsistent at times in the first inning with loose spin at 65-68 mph. However, later in the game with runners on base he was able to get a couple of swings and misses on the same pitch. Sanchez is an all around talented player with fast-twitch tools. On defense, the glove action and footwork profile to the middle of the field. Offensively he has strong hands, good rhythm and a loose finish.

6-foot-1, 165-pound frame. The left-hander threw a complete game in the first round of the playoffs on Sunday morning, sending his team to the championship game. Godwin works from a high-3/4 slot with, smooth delivery and clean arm action. His fastball ranged from started out 83-84 in the first inning, settling in at 80-82 mostly. Godwin's slider was effective at 69-72 mph with tight spin and good depth.
