At 5-foot-9, 165-pouds, Johnson’s physical attributes won’t jump off the page at you, but what does get your attention is his play on the field.  At the 2014 Tennessee Smokies High School Baseball Showcase, Johnson showed off good arm strength with some carry from the shortstop position with a clean exchange and quick release.  He showed very good footwork, tending to move better to his glove side, and exhibited soft hands fielding to the back hand side.  Johnson’s speed was showcases at the event where he ran a 6.93-second 60 yard dash that landed him in the top 10 at the event.  At the plate, Johnson, who is currently uncommitted, shows a line drive swing with projectable gap power.
