Welcome to PBR Arizona
September 18, 2017
With great pleasure, we bring to you Prep Baseball Report Arizona. Our mission in Arizona mirrors that of our other state-specific coverage: to provide the most comprehensive in-state scouting information, to promote high school baseball and, ultimately help Arizona prep athletes achieve their dreams of playing baseball at the next level. Our goal is to be the year-round No. 1 scouting resource for prep baseball in Arizona.
Although it will take some time to achieve the status of our other 35 states, we are certain we have the right person to thoroughly, accurately and honestly scout Arizona:
Jordon Banfield.
In short order, Banfield has built a reputation as a smart, relentless recruiter with a keen evaluative eye in his four years as a college recruiting coordinator. Prior to joining the Prep Baseball Report, Banfield served two years as the recruiting coordinator, hitting and infield coach at Division I University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, where he recruited prospects all over the country and helped the program improve in nearly every offensive category. In his first year at UTRGV, the team committed a WAC-low 52 errors under his tutelage.
Banfield also served as the recruiting coordinator at the University of Illinois-Springfield, an upstart Division II program in which he was tasked to recruit 32 new players in his first year, five of whom signed professional contracts, and another - Michael Rothmund - led NCAA baseball in home runs with 28. Banfield came from University of Illinois-Springfield from Ann Arbor, Michigan, where he architected one of the top travel teams in the country at the time, the Ann Arbor Travelers. His summer program produced multiple draft picks and became the first team in Michigan history to qualify for the Connie Mack World Series in consecutive years. During that time, he also served as an associate scout for the Texas Rangers and owned his own training facility, Great Lakes Baseball Academy.
Now Banfield will bring his baseball experiences, grinder mentality and passion for scouting to Arizona's prep baseball scene. As the Arizona Scouting Director, Banfield will work tirelessly to bring to you the most comprehensive high school baseball information Arizona has ever seen and provide scouting coverage to all corners of the state. But he can't do it alone. Please email him at [email protected] with college commitments, relevant news, and top players in your area.
Arizona-specific events will begin this fall. Prep Baseball Report events are designed to give players the maximum exposure needed to advance to the next level. Not only will players receive high-level exposure from college coaches, but all players at events will be videotaped, and the edited performance will be hosted online. All players' profiles, verified statistics and scouting reports can be searched in our expansive player database.
Our flagship state, Prep Baseball Report Illinois, was launched in 2005. Over the last 12 years, the Prep Baseball Report has evolved into one of the country's biggest and most respected independent scouting services, with a singular focus of providing comprehensive coverage in every state we are in. More than 800 colleges and pro scouts now subscribe to the Prep Baseball Report multimedia services.
Now, we are thrilled to be your No. 1 source of high school baseball in Arizona.
