USA Baseball’s Tournament of Stars is at the halfway point with two days of games in the books. Friday will be another evaluation day, followed by games on Saturday and Sunday. Nearly every pitcher has thrown already and more marquee names toed the rubber today. Here are some notes on players from outside the PBR states…
+ IF Xavier Legrant (O’Berry Academy of Tech, NC) showed a loose, quick swing in batting practice on the first evaluation day and it has carried over into the games so far. The North Carolina State recruit is 4-for-9 with four RBIs and two runs scored so far. He hit an inside-the-park home run on Thursday when he laced a ball to center field that got by a diving Daz Cameron (Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy, GA). He circled the bases in about 16 seconds.
