With the draft two months away, the PBR Draft 100 was updated on Tuesday. Though there is still plenty of time for things to change, several players have improved their stock since the list debuted back in December. Listed alphabetically below are 10 prospects that climbed the rankings in the latest edition.
Braxton Garrett, LHP, Florence HS, AL
Already a top prospect after last summer, Garrett solidified himself as a first-round pick with a dominant outing at the National High School Invitational in March. Against Liberty Christian Academy, VA, and RHP Zack Hess in the first round, Garrett pitched eight innings, allowing just four hits and a walk while striking out 11. His fastball started out at 91-92 mph and touched 93 a couple times in the second inning. He continued to sit at 90-92 for most of the game and was 89-90 in the eighth. Garrett established himself on the showcase circuit last summer and did so with a good breaking ball. Though it was inconsistent, he showed it again Wednesday, getting swings and misses while it sat 78-81 with power and depth. The separator for Garrett now is his changeup. It’s a new pitch for him and already has the makings of being a plus offering. It ranged from 83-86 and featured good fade while he maintained good arm speed. He is now ranked ninth.
