The Hotlist: Midwest Prospects With Draft Buzz

By Nathan Rode and PBR Staff

The draft is a month away, which isn’t long but still leaves plenty of time for things to change. The season got off to a slow start for any because of the weather, but several guys are finding a grove and getting into midseason form. Below are several players that have draft buzz this spring—from mild intrigue to early-round potential.

Keegan Baar, LHP, Hudsonville HS, MI
Baar has a long, lanky build at 6-foot-4, 190 pounds, with room to add strength and initially boosted his draft stock at the Super 60 Showcase in February. He sat 90-91 mph then with a loose arm action and is heating up this spring. He started the season in the low to mid 80s, but has seen his velocity increase with each passing start as the weather warms up and he gets into midseason form. His fastball has sat in the mid 80s in his last couple starts. He is committed to Michigan State.
