To shed some more light on last week’s Dynasty Games in South Florida, we will be highlighting a few of the 2017 players who stood out at this event. The vast majority of players who received invites were seniors, but there were still a handful of juniors who not only participated, but arguably were the best players in attendance.
It is no secret that just about every year the Miami area is one of the top recruiting hotbeds in the country, and this happens to be especially true for the 2017 class where three players are ranked in the top ten in the Overall Rankings. But let us not keep you in any further suspense. Here are the top 2017 players from the annual Dynasty Games:
1. Mark Vientos, SS, Flanagan HS, FL
At 6-foot-3, 175 pounds, Vientos looks like a natural shortstop when he walks onto the field. Ranked No. 1 in the Overall Rankings for the 2017 class, the Miami commit did not disappoint during the showcase portion of this event. He shows his usual soft hands, plus arm strength, and overall advanced defensive actions. His batting practice, however, is really what separates him from the rest of the pack as he was able to consistently drive balls out of the park and hit with authority to all fields. It is almost scary to think about the kind of player he will be when he adds another 25 pounds to his lean frame. Although it is still almost two years away, Vientos has the makings of being a first-round pick in 2017.
