Shane Marshall: Beyond The Measurables

Numbers don’t lie, but they also might miss the whole truth.
Such is the case with Webster-Schroeder’s Shane Marshall.
It’s not that Marshall doesn’t have impressive measurables. He does. Just don’t limit your evaluation of the 2016 All Greater Rochester Player of the Year.
“The biggest thing with him is he out-competes everybody,” said Matt Dryer the owner of Diamond Pro in East Rochester, New York where Marshall plays travel baseball. “When I look at him the first thing I think of is a boxer. He just going to out-punch you. You’re not going to knock him out. He’s a tough kid.”
That toughness showed itself during the top of the fifth inning of the NYSPHSAA Class AA semi-final game between Schroeder and the R.C. Ketcham Indians.
