Pennsylvania Draft Preview
June 2, 2016

The 2016 Major League Draft takes place June 9-11. In advance of the draft, Prep Baseball Report is posting a summary of each state in the coverage area with scouting reports on the top high school draft prospects.
Pennsylvania, one of the top states for producing big leaguers outside of the usual suspects, could have two high school prospects get popped in the first round—first supplemental round excluded—since 1996, when the Giants selected (and ended up losing because of a loophole) RHP Matt White and the Reds took OF Johnny Oliver. SS Nolan Jones (Holy Ghost Prep, PA) and OF Alex Kirilloff (Plum HS, PA) look to join that club. Though neither figures to be an easy sign, a first-round selection would likely pull them away from the respective commitments.
12. Nolan Jones, SS, Holy Ghost Prep, PA
Jones was a model of consistency at the East Coast Pro Showcase, Area Code Games and World Wood Bat Championship last summer and fall, making consistent hard contact to all fields and showing the ability to drive the baseball to the pull side.
