In case you missed it last week, the 2014 PBR Draft Blog has updates on top prospects like RHPs Jake Godfrey (Providence Catholic HS, IL) and Cameron Varga (Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy, OH) and 1B/RHP Zack Shannon. The Draft Blog will be continuously updated throughout the season, pulling draft related information from the various state scout blogs.
This week should be a busy one as well with several teams from New York, Pennsylvania and West Virginia traveling to Myrtle Beach for a couple of tournaments. State scouting directors Dan Cevette (New York) and Greg Williams (Pennsylvania and West Virginia) will be down there for the action so be sure to keep up with their posts. I may find myself down there at some point too. Moeller HS, OH, is also traveling south and will be in North Carolina for the next few days. I will see the Crusaders play tonight against Orange HS, NC.
Now, let’s get to some baseball questions…
Will J.J. Matijevic (Norwin HS, PA) be a top-five round pick, and what are some questions about him?
Matijevic is strong at 6-foot-2, 205 pounds and the ball can jump off his bat. He would need to work on his defense to stay at third base, otherwise he would be limited to first, putting a lot more pressure on his bat.
