Ontario Insider: Top 2017 Uncommitted Catchers

With the Summer season coming to an end and the 2016-2017 high school sports season as well as fall ball getting underway, we would like to take a look at some of the top uncommitted prospects at each position.

Today we are starting with the top uncommitted senior catchers in Ontario. We will look to create a few top uncommitted lists each week, as you can see by our 2017 Player Rankings there are numerous talented prospects available.

Kyle Bryan, C, 2017
Rank: 29th in Ontario
Report: Great frame at 6-foot-4, 187-pounds, long limbs with room to put on size. Right-handed bat with power to pull side, swing has natural lift, stays balanced through swing with good extension. Puts together good at-bats, there is a looseness in his swing, makes it look easy at times. Behind the dish, arm is where he needs most improvement. Receives well and has the baseball IQ catcher needs, arm will dictate how long he stays there, enough potential with the bat where a transfer to first base could be in his future and wouldn’t miss a beat.
College Outlook: D1 bat with power, will need time to develop behind the plate at the Division 1 level, could see a move to first base as the 6-foot-4 body and power fit the profile.
