We highlight some of Ontario’s top uncommitted prospects who will be in Florida this upcoming week, either with their club team or the Junior National Team.
Team Canada is scheduled to play 11 games, mostly against professional teams. The highlight of the trip will be when they face off against the Toronto Blue Jays, who usually stack their lineup with canadian content and bring over a handful of opening day starters. In the past, Jose Bautista, Brett Lawrie, Brandon Morrow, Aaron Sanchez, Dalton Pompey, and Adam Lind have all participated in this game. The probable on the mound for the Jays is British Columbia native Jeff Francis while top ranked pitcher in Canada Mike Soroka from Alberta will get the nod for the Junior National Team.
Elite programs will be all over the sunshine state as teams range from St.Petersburg, Cocoa Beach, Vero Beach, Fort Pierce, and West Palm Beach among others.
PBR will be in Florida watching as many games and seeing as many teams as possible. Here is a look at some of the top players who will be followed closely.
Top Players To Keep Eye On Down In Florida
Zach Fascia, C, 2016
With the Brampton Royals, Fascia is a catcher with an electric arm who also has been off the mound as of late. With his fastball up to 88 mph and sub 2.00 pop times, Fascia is a legit prospect who will be looking to take a major role this week with his team.
