Ohio Draft Preview
June 3, 2016
By Chris Valentine and Nathan Rode
The 2016 Major League Draft takes place June 9-11. In advance of the draft, Prep Baseball Report is posting a summary of each state in the coverage area with scouting reports on the top high school draft prospects.
In five of the last six drafts, Ohio has had a high school prospect popped in the top 10 rounds. The Buckeye State is likely to be shutout in that regard with the 2016 class, as it is a thin year for prep talent. While the top prospects have upside, they’re more likely to develop their skills in college.

Others To Watch: RHP Chris Machamer (Massillon Washington HS, OH) became a household name early in his career, committing to Vanderbilt as a sophomore. He earned Gatorade Player of the Year honors this spring, going 5-1 with a 0.19 ERA and 60 strikeouts in 36 innings of work.
