Top Uncommitted 2016 Speedy Prospects
Trevor Lyne, OF/2B, Suffield Academy, 2016
Ranked: 95th in New England's 2016 class
Scouting Report: At 6-foot, 175-pounds, is an extremely athletic kid, has room to put weight on and get stronger, has a serious bounce in his step. At the plate he hits with a high elbow and uses a double toe tap for timing. Swing is a little bit uphill, needs to flatten out the swing a bit but the bat speed and pop are in there. The tee exit velocity was 83, ball comes off the bat well. Legs are his best tool got down the line in 4.28. Showed extremely well in the outfield, arm strength was 88 with good carry, attacked the ball, footwork was clean and quick. Actions with the glove at 2nd base were just okay, but footwork was very good starting the double play. Has spent a ton of time on the soccer field, will be interesting to see what happens when he devotes more time to baseball. A definite follow for me, upside is huge.
