The 2016 Major League Draft takes place June 9-11. In advance of the draft, Prep Baseball Report is posting a summary of each state in the coverage area with scouting reports on the top high school draft prospects.
The state of Maryland has produced a fair amount of draft prospects through the years, but most make their way through the college ranks before entering professional baseball. The 2016 class figures to see similar results to 2015, with players falling to later rounds and making it to their respective college commitments. We’ll likely being hearing these names again in three years.

Others To Watch: Maryland’s No. 1 high school prospect, 3B/RHP Matt Mervis (Georgetown Prep, MD) is a legitimate two-way player committed to Duke. He hits from the left side with a smooth, easy stroke and hits for power.
