Homewood-Flossmoor 7, Lockport 2
Homewood-Flossmoor (13-4; 4-3) smashed the Porters at Ed Flink Field under the lights on Friday night. Cole Tronson doubled and plated two to lead the Viking attack. Bryce Gray chipped in with a single and an RBI. RHP Malcolm Grady allowed a run and two hits in his fine five innings of work to pick up the win.
Lake Park 5, Naperville North 3
Lake Park (7-10, 3-6) scored three runs in the sixth to take home the road DVC win in Naperville. Trailing 3-2 with two outs in the top of the sixth, Lancer senior 3B Mark Latoria ripped a two-run double to give LP a 4-3 lead. Latoria would score the third run of the inning on a Huskie miscue. Senior RHP Rhett Rapshus went the distance for the Lancers, allowing no earned runs and four hits. Rapshus had 10 strikeouts and three walks.
Prospect 8, Schaumburg 5
Prospect (13-6-1; 6-2 East) stayed atop the MSL East with the road win at Meadows.Jake Caviani went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBI to lead the Knight attack.Grant Miller and Jackson Wrede also plated a pair of Knight runs. Pat Donahue chipped in with three singles.
Elk Grove 6, Hoffman Estates 5
Elk Grove (13-6; 6-2 East) kept pace with Prospect atop the MSL East standings with the road win in Hoffman Estates. The Grenadiers opened up a 6-0 lead and survived a five-run Hawk outburst in the bottom of the fifth to pick up the win. Peter Arbov led the Grenadier attack with a 3-for-3 day with a homer and two RBI. Adam O’Malley also went deep for the second time this season for the EG added a single to his RBI.
Fremd 2, Buffalo Grove 0
Fremd (10-9; 5-4 West) blanked the Bison in Palatine, behind a two-hit shutout from senior Austin Jetel. Jetel had 12 punchouts and one walk. The Vikings scored their two runs in the bottom of the fifth on a junior Joe Uhrich sac-fly and a bases-loaded walk to Jetel.
