No.7 O’Fallon 6, Belleville West 4
O’Fallon (27-2; 11-1) slipped past the Maroons at Blazier Field in O’Fallon. Bradley Harrison and Blake Deatherage led the Panther attack. Harrison had two singles and two RBI while Deatherage had a pair of singles and one RBI. Deatherage pitched 4.1 innings on the mound, allowing four runs, two earned allowing six hits with five strikeouts to improve to 10-0.Senior RHP Tyler Herbert fired 2.1 scoreless innings of relief to nail down the save. STAT NOTE: O’Fallon’s Blake Deatherage is 10-0 on the mound with a 1.28 ERA. Blake has pitched 54.1 innings allowing 47 hits with 59 strikeouts and 18 walks. At the plate he is hitting a robust .446 with seven doubles one triple and a team-leading 35 RBI.
No. 13 Mundelein 12, Stevenson 2
Mundelein (25-2; 7-2) blasted Stevenson in five innings and kept pace with Libertyville behind senior Mike Metz and junior Luke Peterson. Both Mustangs had 4-for-4 days at the plate. Metz fell a bomb shy of hitting for the cycle while Peterson had a pair of doubles in his perfect day. JT Michalski went deep for Mundelein and senior RHP Adam Turner fired a one-hitter at the Patriots. With the win, Mundelein’s venerable head coach Todd Parola earned his 500th career victory achieved at home in Mundelein on Tuesday.
St. Thomas More 8, No.19 St. Joseph Ogden 5
Unheralded Champaign St. Thomas More (21-3; 11-1) stunned the 19th ranked Spartans in St. Joseph on Tuesday. Trailing 5-1, the Sabres exploded for five runs to take the lead 6-5 and added a pair in the seventh to put away SVC leading St. Joseph-Ogden (28-2;12-1).
Elk Grove 9, Rolling Meadows 7
After losing a game to Mother Nature on Monday, in which they led 12-0 over Rolling Meadows in the fifth inning, Elk Grove (18-8; 9-4) won this slugfest in Meadows on Tuesday. Senior Christian Camacho led the Grenadiers attack with a 2-for-2 day with a double and three RBI. Peter Arbov and Matt Wary both were 2-for-4 with a pair of Grenadier RBI. With the win and Prospect’s (16-11; 8-5) loss, Elk Grove moves back into the MSL-East penthouse.
