Marengo (3-4, 1-0) scored three times in the bottom of the seven th to stun Harvard (1-1-1, 0-1) in Marengo on Tuesday. Indian junior Mike Villarreal sent everyone home when his bases-loaded double ended the festivities in Marengo.
Genoa-Kingston 6, Johnsburg 2
Genoa-Kingston (2-1,1-0) defeated the Skyhawks behind a 16-strikeout performance from the Cogs’ ace Brady Huffman. Huffman (2-0) fired a three-hitter at Johnsburg (1-5, 0-1) allowing just one earned run. Matt Cieslica and Andrew Caldwell led the Cogs attack. Cieslica had two hits including a double and drove home two runs, while Caldwell chipped in with a single and also plated a pair for G-K.
Richmond-Burton 6, Rockford Christian 5 (9 innings)
Richmond-Burton (4-2, 1-0) won in walk-off fashion in Richmond on Tuesday in nine thrilling innings. Rockford Christian (6-2, 0-1) was led by Alec Powell, who had four hits,including a double, scored two runs and drove home two Royal Lion runs.
