An early-season shocker took place on Sunday at the Jacksonville Jamboree at Lenz Field.The unranked Runnin’ Redskins of Morris jumped out to a 4-0 lead after five and held on to defeat the 14th-ranked Corsairs. Illinois Wesleyan-bound Tim Smyk (1-0) allowed one unearned run and three hits with five strikeouts in his solid five inning stint on the mound for Morris (2-2). The future Titan hurler helped himself at the plate with a double and an RBI.

The Corsairs (3-1) bounced back from their loss earlier in the day and trounced Solorio Academy. LHP Bryan Stanislawski fired one-hit ball for six innings with 10 strikeouts to pick up the win. RHP Skylar Williams finished up the shutout with two strikeouts in the seventh. Sophomore Cooper Johnson had three hits and two RBI. Bradley-bound Ian Kristan had a double and drove home two while Andy Kantor chipped in with two singles and two runs scored.
