Jacobs 9, Woodstock 3
Jacobs (5-2; 1-0) rolled past the Blue Streaks in a FVC opener for both schools. The Golden Eagles scored four times in the top of fourth and cruised to the victory. Senior Grant Kale ripped two doubles and drove home two runs to lead the Golden Eagle attack.Tim Hubner added two singles and an RBI, while Owen Oreskovich also had two singles and an RBI.
No.4 St.Rita 4 at South Aiken (SC) 1
St. Rita (9-0) made it nine in a row to start the season on Thursday in Aiken SC. Austin Peay-bound LHP Mike Costanzo and Notre Dame-bound RHP Jake Shepski combined for a three-hitter. Costanzo (4-0) allowed the three hits and an unearned run in his six solid innings of work to get the win. Shepski, faced four men in the bottom of the seventh and walked one and struck out three. Shepski singled, scored a run and drove one home for the Mustangs. Tennessee-recruit Tyler Halas added two singles and an RBI to the St. Rita victory.
No. 33 New Trier 7, Model (GA) 3
New Trier (4-0) rolled past the Georgia-power on Thursday. Senior Drew LaMotte, singled and drove home a pair for the Trevians. Jake Reynolds doubled, scored a run and drove home one while Logan Wibble singled, scored a run and had an RBI. Scott Hammes singled and drove home a run as well.
