Mahomet-Seymour 8, Normal U-High 5
Mahomet-Seymour (17-2; 7-0) battled past the Pioneers, led by senior Cully Day and junior Joe Kenney. Day picked up the win on the mound and helped himself with a pair of bombs while Kenney, who nailed down the save for Day, homered and singled for MS. BCC falls to 9-7 overall and now two games behind CBC leader Mahomet Seymour at 5-2.
Jacobs 11, No.21 Huntley 6
Jacobs (13-5; 8-0) swept the Red Raiders behind the big bat of Danny Vandewalker. Vandewalker had four singles, scored two runs and drove home four Golden Eagle runs. Junior SS Matt Kozlak had two doubles, scored two runs and plated three more. Hunley falls to 11-4-1 and 5-3 FVC Valley play.
No 7 Mount Carmel 8, Clemente 1
Mount Carmel (15-2) smashed Clemente at Haggerty Field behind Northwestern-bound LHP Rich Fordon and junior Josh Stowers. Fordon (4-0) allowed one unearned run and one hit in his four quality innings on the mound to pick up the win. Jordan Mikolajewski fired three scoreless innings, allowing three hits with four strikeouts to pick up a save. Louisville-recruit junior Josh Stowers singled, doubled and drove in a run to lead the Caravan attack.
