No. 13 Plainfield North (6-3, 2-1 Southwest Prairie) fell to Minooka 2-1 at Minooka (3-7,1-2 Southwest Prairie) on Friday.

No. 2 St. Rita (14-0) destroyed Logan (WV) 17-1 in the Myrtle Beach, South Carolina Tournament semifinals. Matt Murawski, Mateo Zunica and Danny Gleaves all went deep for the Mustangs. Michigan State-bound Marty Bechina went 2-for-2 with a double and plated two Mustang runs. Max Franklin fired a five-hitter at the West Virginians with seven strikeouts to improve to 4-0 on the mound.
No. 3 Providence (9-2) crushed Lincoln-Way East 16-4 behind two Matt Diehl bombs. Diehl scored two runs and drove home three to lead the Celtics past Lincoln-Way East (4-3) at Tom Dedin Field in New Lenox. Jackson Dvorak continued his torrid hitting with two hits, including a double, scored three runs and plated a pair of Celtic runs. Mike Madej, Zach Pych and Noah O’Brien, all chipped in with two RBI.
No. 4 Joliet Catholic (7-2) destroyed Lake Park 17-0, in five innings behind Connor Brandon. Brandon went 3-for-3 with a double and plated five Hilltopper runs. Purdue-bound Nick Dalesandro and sophomore KC Simonich both went 4-for-4 for the Hilltoppers with three RBI. Mike Dow fired a six-hit shutout at Lake Park (4-1).
