adjusting the slot
*Julian Infante - Vanderbilt University Infielder*
The second part of the swing is the Slot. After a hitter separates they begin to slot their bat towards the pitch, which in some cases can be the most difficult part of the swing. There are hitters who take too wide of a swing and some that are too inside out.
The good news is this is a characteristic that can be practiced and learned.
By simply working on different pitch heights and slotting your bat properly, you can create muscle memory. Julian Infante of Vanderbilt is an experienced SEC hitter who has learned to hit the most difficult pitches. You can do this too! All you need is a tee, a bat, and a ball and you can learn to master the slot.
