Day #2 of the 2012 Under Armour Midwest Future Games was a big success for Team Pennsylvania. Major college scouts from all over the country were in attendance all weekend and numerous players from Team Pennsylvania were able to turn some heads.

Game #1 on Sunday ended once again in a tie. Three Team Pennsylvania pitchers combined to hold Team Missouri to three runs. Missouri had hit five home runs and tallied 12 runs on Day #1 against Indiana. Matt Gordon (Grove City) went two scoreless innings to open the game. The No. 25 ranked player in the Class of 2014 struck out two and gave up just one hit.

Brendan McKay (Blackhawk), the No. 2 ranked player in the Class of 2014 followed up Gordon's performance by going two innings giving up just one hit while striking out three. For the weekend McKay went four innings, with one hit given up, while striking out eight. His performance was the talk of the weekend among the scouts in attendance. His 86mph velocity was five or six mph below the top velos of the weekend, but his complimentary pitches and the ability to throw to spots was impressive. McKay's stock jumped to new heights as a result of his outstanding performance.

Jamie Switalski pitched the final three innings yielding three runs on five hits while striking out three.

Missouri got on the board with a run in the top of the fifth inning and Team Pennsylvania attempted to even things up when Cody Bain (Blackhawk), the No. 37 ranked player in the Class of 2014 led off with a triple to right center field. Bain later attempted to score on a wild pitch, but was tagged out when the ball took an interesting bounce and came back to the catcher.

The game stayed 1-0 until the bottom of the sixth inning when Team Pennsylvania pushed across three runs. The inning began with a lead off single by Jamie Switalski (Pine Richland), the No. 31 ranked player in the Class of 2014. Switalski advanced to second base on a single by Shane Connahan (Midd-West), the No. 29 ranked player in the Class of 2014. Both runners moved up on a wild pitch. Brendan McKay hit a sacrifice fly to left field to plate Switalski with the first run of the inning. Team Pennsylvania added run number two on a Missouri error and plated run number three on a wild pitch.

Team Missouri rallied for two runs of its own in the bottom of the 7th inning to force the tie, aided by a home run to right center field off the bat of Colby Fitch, the No. 3 ranked player in the PBR Class of 2014 rankings in Missouri. The blast was Fitch's third home run of the weekend.

Team Pennsylvania wrapped up the weekend with a 9-3 loss to Team Illinois. The game was 5-3 into the seventh inning when Team Illinois erupted for four runs. Team Pennsylvania was led offensively by eight hitters who each collected a hit. Ted Williams (Meadville), Aaron Fritz (Minersville), Christian Porterfield (West Middlesex), Deon Stafford Jr. (Lower Dauphin), Shane Connahan (Midd-West), and Ryan Megyesi (Cardinal Mooney, OH) all had singles in the game. Dominic Cuoci (LaSalle College) had a double.

For the weekend Team Pennsylvania had one loss and two ties. The event, sponsored by Prep Baseball Report, will likely make a move to a new state next year in its' third year of existence. The plan is to place the event at a major Division I University every year in a state in which Prep Baseball Report operates (Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Michigan).
