Super 16 Rankings (Week 6)

It was a busy week of action with a lot of good weather. Many teams played four and even five games. Following is a brief look teams that have emerged or made moves in the rankings in the past week.

Class AAAA
For the first time this season there is a new No. 1 in the big school classification. The Parkland Trojans slip to No. 4 this week following three losses in four games. Moving into the No. 1 spot is Hazleton Area (9-1) who gave Parkland one of their losses in the past seven days.
Class AAa
Jersey Shore (10-1) continues to climb the 3A rankings, moving up two more spots to No. 8 this week following a three win week. New to the poll this week at No. 16 is Hamburg Area (13-2) who won three games this week by a combined 21-6 total.
Class aA
Hanover (12-1) remains at No. 1 this week but two undefeated clubs continue their march up the poll. Central (13-0) and Neshannock (14-0) continue to win games and make a steady march towards No. 1.
Class a
Bishop McCort remains at No. 1 but is feeling the pressure from undefeated California (13-0) at No. 2, Elk County Catholic (9-0) at No. 4 and Vincentian Academy (11-0) at No. 5.
PAISAA schools
The top five teams among independent schools in the state continue to battle it out for supremacy. Also making some noise among the teams to watch is Mercersburg Academy (9-7) which is riding a seven game win streak.
