Gannon Rooney is a 5-7, 150-pound middle infielder from Upper St. Clair HS with a loose arm and smooth hands. His 6.91 60-yard dash time was one of the top times at the Western PA Top Prospect Showcase in June. During the same event, Rooney displayed fluid footwork and soft hands from his middle infield position. Offensively he showcased a short swing that produced line drives consistently to all fields.

Rooney is coming off a very successful summer playing for the Steel City Wildcats in the West Penn Elite Baseball League. Rooney hit .408 with a .544 on base percentage and a .602 slugging percentage. Rooney fielded at a .951 clip, committing just four errors in 82 chances in the infield. His play helped the Wildcats to an overall record of 33-6-1.
