PA Director of Scouting
Zach Craven is a 6-foot-3, 175-pound 1B/3B from McKeesport HS. He has shown well in all facets of the game at several PBR Pennsylvania events in 2012. He runs a 7.50 60-yard dash, throws 74 mph across the infield and has a 79 mph bat exit velocity. His most impressive quality however is his drive and desire to be good. The ability to show up in key situations is a trait that Craven also appears to possess. At the PA Underclass Games in September, Craven had a 1-for-3 outing with a double in the Red Team's Game #1 win. He then followed that up with a 3-for-4 performance in the Red Team's Sunday victory with a triple and four RBI. Craven was named the Red Team's MVP for his efforts.
As he continues to grow and get stronger, Craven projects as a middle of the order hitter at the next level. He has excellent timing and gets good extension. He is ranked No. 86 in the Class of 2014.
