Despite a 7-4 loss to Team Kansas and an 8-4 loss to Team Select the day was a successful one for Team Pennsylvania. Game one action was highlighted by two scoreless innings on the mound from RHP Connor Yoder (East Pennsboro). The the 6-foot-4, 225-pound righty touched 89 mph and commanded his 78 mph slider for strikes.
Game two saw Team PA take its lone lead of the day when New York prospect Jake Burlingame drove a triple to left center field to plate two runs for a 4-2 lead. Jake Wapinsky went 1-for-1 in the game with a walk and finished the day with a 2-for-3 line with one RBI.
Team Pennsylvania wraps up game action today with a 10:00 am game vs. Team Missouri. The two teams have met up the past two years in this event with both games ending in ties (3-3 in 2012 and 5-5 in 2013).
