PA Notebook: Plenty of Commitments on Final Day of November

The final day of the month was cause for and extended Thanksgiving celebration for four Pennsylvania prospects that announced their college intentions. A look at the commitments announced on November 30 follows.

Ryan Creps2B/OF Ryan Creps (Indiana Area HS), Class of 2014

Creps is a 6-foot, 180-pound left-handed hitter ranked No. 161 in the PA Class of 2014. He has excelled at a number of PBR events including the PA Top Prospect Games in June and the Fall College Prospect Program. Creps' commitment to Canisius College brings the total number of commitments from the Top Prospect Games to 28 and the Fall College Prospect Program to 19. Creps went 4-for-10 with a double and two triples during his appearances in the fall program. He runs a solid 7.14 60-yard dash, has displayed an 85 mph bat exit velocity and an 82 mph arm across the infield.

Jimmy HerronOF Jimmy Herron (La Salle HS), Class of 2015

Herron is a 6-foot-1, 170-pound athlete with plus foot speed (6.53 60-yard dash). He has the ability affect the game defensively with excellent range and a strong 88 mph arm. Herron is a standout football player in the fall and was the subject of a recent PBR Plus article on two-way athletes. He is ranked No. 22 in Pennsylvania and No. 173 in the PBR combined Class of 2015 rankings. Herron announced yesterday that he will be playing his college baseball at Duke University.

Widener university lands two prospects

OF Joe Addvensky (Delaware Valley) & RHP Josh Lafferty (Pope John Paul II) have both announced their intentions to continue their playing careers at Widener University. Addvensky is a 5-foot-9, 150-pound outfielder that is a plus runner with a quality lead-off approach. He is ranked No. 141 in the PA Class of 2014. Lafferty is a 6-foot-3, 180-pound righty that sits in the low 80s with the potential to develop added velocity.
