Middle Infield Analysis: Week 4 of Fall College Prospect Program

SS/3B Hyte Eurich, Knoch HS, Class of 2014

Eurich showcased a square stance and a line drive approach to hitting. He barreled the baseball frequently during batting practice utilizing all fields well with a bat exit velocity of 77 mph. The 5-foot-11, 150-pound prospect also showcased a low arm slot on throws across the diamond at 65 mph.

2B/OF Alex Huff, Franklin HS, Class of 2016

Huff is a 5-foot-8, 130-pound left-handed hitter that a leg lift stride and the ability to barrel most baseballs with a bat exit velocity of 73 mph. He showcased the ability to put the ball in play routinely over the course of two games. Huff demonstrated the ability to play through the baseball with accurate throws of 69 mph across the diamond.

Corbin KesslerSS Corbin Kessler, Seneca Valley HS, Class of 2016

Kessler showcased athletic actions at shortstop with a soft glove hand and clean transition. He demonstrated the ability to play through the baseball and to make plays on the move. Kessler has good balance and excellent rhythm to his swing. The 5-foot-10, 155-pound right-handed hitter displayed a bat exit velocity of 78 mph and barreled the baseball to all fields during his round of batting practice. Kessler went 1-for-3 in game action at Slippery Rock University.

2B/SS Josh Pittman, Central Catholic HS, Class of 2014

Pittman impressed again with his ability to make plays in the middle infield. The 5-foot-9, 155-pound uncommitted senior showcased the ability to play the baseball on the move and to throw from multiple arm angles. The right-handed hitter has also shown ability at the plate, going 2-for-5 with a walk over the course of the weekend. Pittman's play during the course of the fall program has placed him on a number of program's recruiting lists.

2B/3B Chris Santucci, Shady Side Academy, Class of 2015

Santucci is a 5-foot-6, 150-pound right-handed hitter that hits from a square stance with no stride. He demonstrated the ability to barrel the baseball frequently in batting practice creating a bat exit velocity of 76 mph. Santucci showed solid actions in the infield and made a highlight reel play while playing 3B. Santucci backhanded a ball behind the bag and made a strong throw across the diamond for the defensive play of the day at Slippery Rock University.

RHP/2B Brandon Spinneweber, Butler Area HS, Class of 2015

Spinneweber utilized a wide stance and a lift and replace stride foot to barrel the baseball often in batting practice with a bat exit velocity of 78 mph. He went 1-for-2 with a double and a run scored in game action at Slippery Rock University. The 6-foot, 160-pound middle infielder showcased a soft glove hand and accurate throws of 74 mph across the diamond.

SS/RHP Tristan Thompson, Chapmanville Regional HS (WV), Class of 2015

Thompson showcased well in all facets of the game. The 5-foot-10, 165-pound right-handed hitter utilized a lift and replace stride foot out of a square stance to barrel the baseball routinely with a bat exit velocity of 83 mph. Thompson has excellent rhythm to his swing and the ball jumps of his barrel to all fields. The middle infielder also displayed a soft glove hand and the ability to play through the baseball with throws of 74 mph across the diamond.

Devon Walker2B/RHP Devon Walker, DuBois Area HS, Class of 2014

Walker turned in another solid performance in all facets of the game. He went 1-for-3 in game action at Slippery Rock University and displayed solid defense at both middle infield spots over the course of two games. The 5-foot-9, 160-pound prospect has been impressive at all stops in the fall program and officially announced his commitment to the University of Pitt Johnstown following a visit on September 16.

2B/SS Ted Williams, Meadville HS, Class of 2014

Williams showcased the top infield arm of the weekend with throws of 84 mph across the diamond at Thiel College. The Millersville University commit has swung the bat well all fall and continued his strong offensive showing by going 3-for-6 with a walk over the course of two weekend games.

SS/RHP Matthew Yough, Karns City HS, Class of 2015

Yough is a 6-foot, 155-pound prospect that has shown continual progress. The right-handed hitter has a high hands approach and utilizes his lower half well to create a bat exit velocity of 76 mph. Yough barreled the baseball routinely in batting practice and went 1-for-5 with a walk in game action over two days. He displayed the ability to play through the baseball and improving arm strength with throws of 72 mph across the diamond.
