Nick Dunn had an outstanding sophomore season at Shikellamy High School. The 5-foot-10, 170-pound C/SS is currently ranked No. 48 in the PA Class of 2015 finishing his sophomore year with a .544 average. Dunn's batting average broke the school record (.522) that had stood since 1966. He had 31 hits in 57 at bats, with 19 RBI, eight doubles and two home runs. A 2nd Team Heatland Conference Division I selection as a freshman in 2012, Dunn was named Conference Player of the Year for his performance in 2013.
The left-handed hitter showed quick hands, a short stroke and the ability to use all fields at the PA Top Prospect Games in June. Dunn showed good feet, a fluid transfer and good carry on throws of 79 mph from his middle infield position during defensive evaluations. Dunn went 3-for-6 in game play including an inside-the-park home run to right center field that allowed him to show his advanced foot speed.
Dunn did not participate as a catcher in June, but will do so at the Preseason All-State Showcase in February. The talented junior recently turned in a 6.85 60-yard dash and has shown an 86 mph bat exit velocity.
