PA Director of Scouting
Jared Melone played a major role in the North Penn Knights march to a Pennsylvania Class AAAA state title last spring. Melone went 3-for-3 with two doubles in the state quarterfinals and had a pair of hits in the state championship game. He finished his sophomore season hitting .411 and was then named to the WWBA National Championship All-Tournament Team playing with the Tri-State Arsenal in June.
Melone, currently ranked No. 43 in the PA Class of 2015, is the highest ranked, uncommitted corner infielder in his class. The right-handed hitters has natural lift to his swing and gets to extension regularly. At 6-foot-2, 185-pound, the Melone is likely to see his power production increase as his frame continues to fill out. He will be showcasing his abilities with a talented group of prospects at the Preseason All-State Showcase in February.
