Rustin 9, Octorara 5
Octorara jumped to an early 2-0 lead on a 1st inning home run from Frederick CC commit Chase Thomas but West Chester Rustin answered with multi-run innings in four of their six at bats to win 9-5 improving their record to 1-1.
Rustin answered Octorara's two-run first with two runs of their own in the bottom of the frame. In the top of the 3rd Octorara took its final lead of the day on a two-out RBI single from Tim Lubrano.
Much like the 1st inning Rustin answered with three runs to regain the lead, one that they never relinquished. Evan Snyder worked four innings allowing three earned runs to pick up the win, while University of Miami commit Chris McMahon tossed two innings of relief for the save.
Lubrano (2-2, RBI) and Andy Imberowicz (2-3, RBI) led the Octorara offense on the evening. Freshman catcher Sean Hopkins carried the big stick offensively for Rustin going 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBI.
