Game Recap: Lansdale Catholic at Archbishop Wood

A competitive game through four and a half innings turned into a second straight blowout in this home-and-home series. 2016 RHP Anthony Russo (4.1 IP, 8 H, 2 BB, 4 K) kept the Crusaders at bay long enough to let the Vikings offense get heated up. After scoring four runs in the fourth to take a 6-1 lead, Archbishop Wood sent eleven men to the plate on its way to posting a seven-run bottom of the fifth and mercy-rule victory.

2015 DH Austin Hill, 2014 2B Matt Mandes (Slippery Rock) and 2016 1B Matt Cummiskey tallied two-hit games for the Vikings, while 2017 OF Joey Lancellotti banged out the team's only extra base hit on the day, an RBI double to left field that kicked off the scoring in bottom of the second inning. 2015 SS Mike Christy barreled up three hits, including an opposite field triple, to lead Lansdale Catholic.
