Eastern PA College Prospect Showcase Set for Today
January 20, 2014
By Greg Williams
PA Director of Scouting
The Eastern PA College Prospect Showcase is set to take place today at The Phelps School in Malvern, PA. Roughly 1/4 of the prospects are currently ranked in Pennsylvania in their respective classes and others will be vying for inclusion when the next round of updates take place in late February.
Unsigned Senior catcher Sean Williamson will be looking to impress college scouts in attendance. The 5-foot-10, 185-pound backstop showcased pop times of 1.97-2.10 on throws of 79 mph out of the crouch at last year's Preseason All-State Showcase. Williamson had a solid round of batting practice squaring most pitches and showing some pop to the pull side. He turned in an impressive 4.13 home-to-first time and displayed an 80 mph bat exit velocity. Williamson is currently ranked No. 209 in the PA Class of 2014.
