Corner Infielders Analysis: Week 5 of Fall College Prospect Program

3B/RHP Thomas Aruta, Pleasant Valley HS, Class of 2015
Aruta showcased a flat bat path through the hitting zone and the ability to utilize all fields with a bat exit velocity of 74 mph. The lefty has displayed the ability to be a successful top of the order hitter at the high school level. Aruta also displayed the ability to play through the baseball with accurate throws of 76 mph across the diamond. The 5-foot-10, 155-pound prospect showed a soft glove hand and straight line carry on throws from 3B.
3B Tyler Bridgwood, Whitehall HS, Class of 2014
Bridgwood is an athletic, 6-foot, 190-pound left-handed hitter that hits from a square stance. He showcased a balanced swing and the ability to use all fields with a bat exit velocity of 75 mph. Bridgwood also displayed quick feet and good carry on throws of 80 mph across the diamond. The uncommitted senior exhibited good range and the ability to make plays on the move.
1B Alex Burman, Episcopal Academy, Class of 2016
Burman is a 5-foot-10, 180-pound left-handed hitter with a big upside. He showcased a square stance with good balance throughout his swing and solid extension. Burman barreled the baseball routinely in batting practice with a bat exit velocity of 76 mph. He also flashed a soft glove hand and good feet around the bag at 1B. Burman will be an interesting follow in this class with the potential to develop into a middle of the order left-handed hitter.
3B/OF Aaron Gentry, Exeter Township HS, Class of 2015
Gentry stood out among position players at Lehigh with a diving backhanded play at 3B and a double at the plate. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound prospect showcased a strong arm in defensive workouts and a high energy approach to the game. The right-handed hitter hits from a high hands load and displayed good extension to his swing with a bat exit velocity of 86 mph. Gentry showed good feet and a clean exchange defensively with good carry to throws of 79 mph across the diamond.
3B/RHP Austin Lescanec, Bishop McDevitt HS, Class of 2014
Lescanec is a 6-foot-1, 160-pound prospect that showed the ability to play through the baseball and good carry on throws of 71 mph across the diamond. The right-handed hitter hits from a slightly open stance with a short swing path creating a bat exit velocity of 71 mph.
1B Tom Roginsky, Bethlehem Catholic HS, Class of 2016
Roginsky has a projectable frame at 6-foot, 175-pounds and showcased athletic actions around the bag at 1B with throws of 70 mph across the diamond. The right-handed hitter showcased a strong lower half and good barrel whip with a bat exit velocity of 80 mph during batting practice. He went 1-for-2 in game action at Lehigh University.
