PBR OK Player of the Week: Enid's Kros Bay

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

In a week full of rain outs, there was not as much baseball played, but there were still some outstanding individual performances. The seventh PBR OK Player Of The Week goes to Kros Bay. Bay is a senior committed to Paris JC commit who catches for Enid. The right-handed hitter posted a  .700 batting average last week (7-for-10) with three doubles and eight RBI’s, leading his team to three lopsided victories last week. Bay is currently ranked No. 52 in Oklahoma’s 2017 Class.

(5A) T.J. Mullins is a Grayson JC recruit and LHP/1B for Carl Albert. This week, Mullins produced on the mound, tossing seven innings, allowing just one earned run on six hits and one walk while striking out 11 batters.  Mullins is currently ranked No.55 in Oklahoma’s 2017 Class.

(4A) Roman Phansalkar, an Arizona signee and SS/RHP for Heritage Hall, came up big in the District Title game. On the mound, the right-hander pitched 3.2 Innings in relief to close the game out, striking out nine of the 13 batters he faced.  At the dish, the right-handed hitter went 2-for-3 with two home runs, thre runs scored, two RBI’s, and a walk. Phansalkar is currently ranked No.6  in Oklahoma’s 2017 Class

(3A) Javier Sanchez, a sophomore from Marietta, threw another gem this week. Against a good 4A club, Sanchez went 7.2 innings, allowing one earned run on four hits and struck out seven. The 6-foot-2, 170-pound young arm has put together a strong year in his first campaign as a starter.

 (B) Brett Hopkins, a Western Oklahoma State College commit and C/SS for Granite, had a big week offensively. The 5-foor-11, 170-pound senior hit .538 (7-for-13) with a double, two triples, six RBI’s, 10 runs scored, and earned three free bases.

Honorable Mentions
Zane Alexander, an uncommitted junior OF for Carl Albert, had a productive day with the bat this week, batting .556 (5-for-9) with a double, home run, and five runs scored. Alexander is currently ranked No.92 in Oklahoma’s 2018 Class.

Jordan Compton, an uncommitted junior SS/RHP for Carl Albert, was solid on this mound this week. The right-handed sinker-baller hurled 7.2 innings, allowing two earned runs on eight hits and one walk while punching out seven. Compton is currently ranked No.27 in Oklahoma’s 2018 Class.

Erick (E.J.) Taylor Jr. , an NOC Enid commit and 1B/RHP for Midwest City, was a clutch performer at the dish this week. The 6-foot-4, 215-pound right-handed hitter batted .545 (6-for-11) with two doubles, 6 RBI’s, and drew four free passes. Four of Taylor’s RBI’s on the week came with two outs in big situations. Taylor was also clean defensively all week. Taylor is currently ranked No.53 in Oklahoma’s 2017 Class.
