With the spring and summer seasons coming to an end, PBR Ohio has had a chance to see numerous players from whom we have not seen before as well as the development of players already ranked. With that said we have updated our rankings for the incoming juniors, the 2016 class.

Also please take a look at the updated 2015 class, click here.

We also would like to give an overview of some of biggest movers and fastest risers within the class and we will start at the top.

Uncommitted two-way prospect Christopher Machamer (Massillon Washington, SS/RHP) heads the list and is ranked number two overall in the 2016 class for PBR as a whole. The 6-foot-1, 180 pound righty sits in the low 90s on the bump while also having an exit velocity of 91 at the plate.

Vanderbilt commit Ty Duvall (Lebanon, catcher) stays in the number two spot as he is the topped ranked catcher in the class and ranked number seven overall for PBR.

Jackson Tedder

The number three and four spot are held by two talented left-handed pitchers from southwest Ohio, Nick Bennett (Cincinnati Moeller) and Jackson Tedder (Beavercreek, pictured right). Bennett comes from the top program in the state while Tedder made a huge leap into the top five after an impressive performance at the Future Games.

Georgia Tech commit Chase Murray (CHCA, Catcher) rounds out the top five while future Yellow Jacket teammate Jay Wilson (Loveland, 3B) made a huge leap into the top ten after touching 90 during the summer.

Kent State commit Tyler Drabick (North Canton Hoover) enters the top 15, landing at number 13 after a strong summer where the SS/RHP sat 86-88 with a sharp breaking ball. In the field the Future Games participant had a position velocity of 87 while having an exit velocity of 88.

Shay Smiddy

6-foot-5 RHP, Shay Smiddy (pictured right) jumps to number 14 and is the next in the line of dominant starters from Defiance High School. Smiddy sits 83-86, touching 87 on the fastball while being confident in three total pitches (12/6 CB and change-up). In his last two outing of the summer for Defiance ACME at the ACME state tournament, the righty fired two shutouts while going 15 innings, allowing just two hits (including a no-hitter) while striking out 21 against two Division I programs.

6-foot-2, strong framed RHP Damon Egnor (Paulding) climbed to number 17. Egnor played his summer baseball with the Napoleon River Bandits Legion Team, who were one of 64 teams to advance to Regionals in the nation. The righty features a heavy fastball that sits 84-87 with arm-side run.

Clayton Surrell's (Pickerington Central, RHP) velocity jumped to upper 80s this summer which helped him jump to the number 18 spot in the rankings.

Team Ohio's double play combo, Noah West (Westerville Central) and Sam LaFontaine (Western Reserve Academy) come in at number 22 and 23 respectively after helping Team Ohio go unbeaten at the Future Games.

Nate Monastra

Hunter Sexton from Jackson High School came out of nowhere during the Underclass Games, garnering an invite to the Future Games. The 26th ranked Sexton is a two-way prospect, who on the mound sits 85-87, in the field has a position velocity of 85 across the diamond and at the plate has an exit velocity of 88.

One player who has positioned himself as the top ranked uncommitted catcher at number 29 in the class is Nate Monastra (Olentangy, pictured right). Monatra has catching skills as he receives and frames well while having pop times between 1.93-1.98. At the plate the right-handed hitter has an exit velocity of 88.

Chandler Cannon (Oregon Clay, RHP/MIF) was a Future Games participant for Team Select and sat 85-86 on the fastball which helped him jump to number 31 in the rankings.
