We would like to thank all who participated in PBR's Mahoning Valley Open ID. This was a great opportunity for 2015, '16, '17, and '18 prospects to be put on college radars. Many players impressed during their individual workouts at the showcase.

Mahoning Valley Open ID: Class of 2018 Evaluations
TOP PITCHER: Jacob Herrit, RHP/OF, Knock (PA), 2018
TOP POSITION PLAYER: Jackson Miller, C/SS, Highland, 2018
Ben Mongelluzzo, OF/RHP, Penn-Trafford (PA), 2018
Scouting Report: 5-foot-11, 155-pound two-way prospect with average, athletic frame. While early, projects best as a pitcher at this stage. Uses a slight inward turn and stays online through his delivery. Shows long arm action with some stabbing on the back end. Throws through a high-¾ arm slot. Demonstrated command of 75-77 mph fastball with some natural cutting action to it. Also mixes in a 2-seam at 74 mph that shows more cut than run. Breaking ball was located down in the zone at 66-69 mph with 11/5 movement. Changeup is sold with good arm action at 70-71 mph. Defensively, he showed a top velocity of 78 mph from the outfield. Tends to close himself off. At the plate, he initiates his swing from the right side with a leg kick. Overall compact swing. Showed ability to hit to all fields. Some loft and extension. Ran a 4.5 home to first time.
Cameron Buford, RHP/3B, Boardman, 2018
Scouting Report: 6-foot-1, 135-pound two-way prospect with skinny, wiry frame. On the mound, he showed a slow rhythm with a slight inward turn. Tendency to throw across his body a bit. Uses long arm action through a high-¾ arm slot. Regular effort to his delivery. Fastball sat 71-73 mph with some run. Breaking ball was down in the zone with gradual 11/5 movement and changeup was thrown with good arm speed at 66-68 mph. Defensively, he reached a top velocity of 62 mph across the infield with accuracy. Showed some range with average hands at this stage. Offensively, he shows a level bat path with line drive production. Swing has tendency to get long at times. Power should improve with increased physical strength and maturation. Ran a 5.3 home to first time.
Jackson Miller, C/SS, Highland, 2018
Scouting Report: 5-foot-10, 140-pound prospect with athletic frame. Solid player with advanced skill set for his age. Given size, likely projects best as a middle infielder at this stage. Uses short arm action through high ¾ arm slot. Top velocity of 77 mph across the infield with accuracy. Can really pick it and shows sure hands. Quick feet and plays through the ball. Behind the plate, he showed some quickness to his transfer and maintained good direction with his feet. Pop times typically ranged between 2.06 to 2.18 with a top velocity of 73 mph. At the plate, Miller is a switch hitter. Uses a similar type swing from both side. From the right, he uses a short stride with slight upper-cut path. Overall, compact swing with line drive production. From the left, he is more a slappy, contact hitter. Slight upper-cut path from a shoulder load. Lower half stays in line. Ran a

Scouting Report: 5-foot-11, 175-pound prospect with strong, athletic frame for his age. Projects best on the mound at this stage. Throws with short arm action through high-¾ arm slot. Regular effort to his delivery. Fastball showed good run at 76-78 mph. Breaking ball is advanced for his age. Tight, sharp spin and located consistently down in the zone at 69-70 mph. Changeup sold with good arm speed in the low-70s. Performed well from the outfield. Top velocity of 80 mph with clean arm action and exchange. Aggressive to the ball and plays through. At the plate, he starts his hands high and brings to shoulder load. Takes level plane. Limited weight transfer and use of his lower half in his swing. Top exit velocity of 82 mph. Ran a 4.47 home to first time.
Jeffrey Ecker, RHP/1B, Trinity Area (PA), 2018
Scouting Report: 6-foot-7, 190-pound prospect with big, projectable frame. Stands tall at onset of his delivery. Maintains good direction. Tends to be short by his ear and throws through a high-¾ arm slot. Fastball was straight in the low-70s. Breaking ball sat at 51-53 mph with big gradual 12/6 break. Tendency to slow down his arm speed with the pitch. Changeup is thrown with better arm speed at 62-63 mph.
Mark Farmer, RHP/1B, Southmoreland (PA), 2018
Scouting Report: 5-foot-10, 210-pound prospect. Shows a slow tempo to his delivery. Lands on line. Throws from a high-¾ arm slot. Fastball shows occasional arm side run at 72-74 mph. Mixed in a slider at 64-67 mph with late break. Changeup showed similar run to his fastball at 62-65 mph. The pitch is thrown with good arm speed. Defensively, he uses short arm action through a low-¾ arm slot. Average hands and feet around the bag. Top velocity of 67 mph on his throws. At the plate, he starts in a crouch. Tendency to drop his hands in his load. Overall aggressive cut with loft to his swing. Registered 84 mph exit velocity. Ran a 5.08 home to first time.
Max Zimmerman, C/2B, Southmoreland (PA), 2018
Scouting Report: 5-foot-9, 140-pound prospect with average, athletic frame. At the plate, the right-handed hitter initiates his swing with a leg kick. Shows pull tendencies in his swing. Tends to get long, which can inhibit his bat speed through the zone. Creates slight loft with his bat path. Defensively, he starts from a wide base. Pop times ranged between 2.34 to 2.65 with a top velocity of 63 mph. Will improved with improved transfer and exchange and overall physical growth. Ran a 4.62 home to first time.
