Cal Conley, INF, Loveland HS, Class of 2018

PBR: Why did you choose Miami?

Conley: Miami was just a great fit for me and everything about the school seemed perfect to me. The coaches are great and it's just a place I want to play. I was born in Florida and lived there for a few years. I also have some family that still lives there.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?

Conley: Arizona State, Vanderbilt, Missouri, Texas, TCU, Florida International, Louisville, South Carolina, and Wichita State.

PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you?

Conley: Atlanta, Ft Myers and Jupiter

PBR: What team do you play for in the summer and what is your most memorable moment?

Conley: I played for the Midland Tribe this year. My favorite moment of the summer was competing with my teammates for the AABC World Series in Texas.

PBR: You are only a sophomore, how excited are you to have your commitment out of the way and are you finished with the recruiting process?

Conley: I am very excited and grateful that I am going to get an opportunity to play at one of the best baseball schools in the country. With the process being over I can now put all my focus in to working hard.

PBR:  How much of a role distance did distance play in your decision?

Conley: I didn't mind to go too far away but I wanted to play in the south and where my family could still see me play.

PBR:  The ACC is one of the top baseball conferences in the country.  How difficult do you think the adjustment will be from high school to such a high level of play?

Conley: It will be a huge jump but I am just going to continue to prepare myself for that level.

PBR: What were your stats this spring season?

Conley: I hit about 300 this season but started off very slow. I had 4 errors on the season. Also had about 28 RBI's
