With the 2016 spring season right around the corner, PBR Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best high school coverage throughout the entire state.

Starting February 1st, we began releasing team previews for teams across the state, leading into the Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings.

2016 Spring Team Preview: Waynedale Golden Bears

Team Name: Waynedale Golden Bears
Head Coach: Justin McDowell
Division: III
2015 Record: 13-14
Conference Record: Wayne County Athletic League, 9-5, 3rd
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 8/9

2016 Team Strengths:

• Experience
• Defense
• Pitching
• Leadership

2016 Team Weaknesses:

• Catching
• Hitting with runners in scoring position
• Finishing games

Coach Outlook: We have a lot of experienced guys back with 11 returning letter winners back from a team that finished third in a very good league. Three All-League players return including the player of the year in the conference, Nick Strausbaugh. Winning close games will be the theme this year as we lost 11 of our 14 games by two runs or less.
