COLUMBUS - Justin Grubb tossed a five-hitter to lead unranked Pickerington North to the Division I state championship with a 2-1 victory over Cincinnati La Salle on Saturday.
The senior right-hander struck out four and walked two, giving up just one unearned run in the bottom of the fifth against No. 14 La Salle (25-8).
With two outs, back-to-back walks and a wild pitch were followed by RBI singles from Cole Losoncy and Drew Salinas to give North its lone two runs.
Salinas finished with a pair of singles for Pickerington North (23-9), which won its first state championship.
