The summer before senior year can be a whirlwind for high school prospects and OF Zach Sullivan (Corning Painted Post East HS, NY) had his share of travel last year. He attended the East Coast Professional Showcase, Area Code Games and Metropolitan Baseball Classic before everything culminated at the World Wood Bat Championship with a spectacular diving catch. If scouts didn’t notice him before, they did at that moment.
Throngs of scouts crammed in behind home plate to catch Sullivan’s Syracuse Sports Zone teammate, RHP Scott Blewett (Baker HS, NY). Those that stuck around until the sixth inning played witness to an incredible defensive play. OF Daz Cameron (Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy, GA), arguably the country’s top prospect in the 2015 class, was up with runners on second and third and Sullivan was going over the plan if a ball came his way.
