NIAGARA COUNTY, NY ??? The Niagara Junior Thunderwolves Showcase Baseball Team, comprised of some of the best high school players in the region, came together this week to give their support to the Salvation Army.
The team, working together, raised enough money to donate toys for five local kids this Christmas. ???We talk a lot about what it means to be a part of the Thunderwolves Program, it???s about a lot more than just our athletic ability and how we perform on the field. It???s about the standard we set as a whole, in the classroom and in the community. Words cannot describe how proud I am of these young men, as a group, we had the power to bring joy and happiness to five kids this Christmas, five kids who may not have otherwise had that opportunity.??? Head Coach/Program Director Jeff Ziemecki
The Salvation Army operates 7,546 centers in communities across the United States. These include food distribution, disaster relief, rehabilitation centers, anti-human trafficking efforts, and a wealth of children???s programs. Their work is funded through kettle donations, corporate contributions, and the sale of goods donated to the Salvation Army Family Stores.
In addition, the Thunderwolves Training Program, which trains 22 teams from ages 9-17, both baseball and softball, donated gifts to the Buffalo City Mission???s Cornerstone Manor Women???s and Children???s program. It's great to see these organizations not only teaching the game of baseball, but also teaching the life lessons that are sure to positively impact these young players futures.
