Scouting Reports
8-16-14
Burlingame stands 5-foot-10 170-pounds with an athletic body. On the mound he works fast through his delivery with a very clean, effortless arm that throws from a mid ¾ slot. His fastball was 80-82 mph with signs of plenty more in the tank (88 form OF) and natural arm side run. His curveball was 72 mph with 12/6 shape and good downward spin. He could finish his pitches a little more out in front, over his front knee which will allow for more action on his pitches.

OF/Hitting - Burlingame stands 5-foot-10 170-pounds with an athletic build. From the OF he charges the ball with his glove down, fields to his glove side, uses a clean transfer, long arm action to a high ¾ slot. Shows above average arm strength topping 88 mph on his throws. Very projectable, smooth, and runs very athletic showing a 4.11 home to first time. At the plate he swings from the left side, he uses a back load on the pitch from a wide relaxed stance. He drives his hands inside the ball showing power potential with an exit velocity of 87. His bat path is level through the zone with long extension after contact to a high finish.

8/2/14 Burlingame ran a 7.17 60-yard dash, flashed an 85 mph bat exit velocity from the left side of the plate and showcased an 86 mph arm from the outfield during scout day activities. The lone prospect from the state of New York to participate in this year's event, the 5-foot-10, 170-pound continued to show the fluid left hand swing that caught our eye at the PBR Mid-Atlantic Border Battle. Burlingame's two run triple to left-center field against Team Select staked Team PA to a two run lead. The junior displayed the ability to be a top of the order hitter at the next level reaching base in four of his seven plate appearances in three games.

7/20/14 Burlingame went 6-for-11 in game play over four games at the PBR Mid-Atlantic Border Battle. The 5-foot-10, 170-pound left-handed hitter showed good balance and a fluid swing from a square stance. He utilized a toe tap stride and loose hands to consistently barrel the baseball during batting practice with a bat exit velocity of 86 mph. Burlingame displayed athletic actions in the outfield with an 87 mph arm and ran a 7.11 60-yard dash. The junior completed his impressive showing by sitting 77-78 from a high 3/4 arm slot while working three scoreless innings on the mound. Burlingame also commanded a 65 mph 11/5 breaking curveball and used a 71 mph changeup with near fastball arm speed effectively.

Burlingame's performance earned him a spot on the Team Pennsylvania roster for the PBR Future Games.

6-21-14 Burlingame stands 5-foot-10 170-pounds and impressed Saturday. He has a clean, smooth, effortless delivery and arm action sitting 80-83 mph but there’s more in the tank. Curveball has a lot of spin with 11/5 shape sitting 65-66 mph. He needs to improve on his changeup command but showed the makings of one with good hand speed at 73 mph. Burlingame has a lot of projection and is young, look forward to seeing him grow.

OF/Hitting - Burlingame has great outfield instincts and has a quick clean arm with accuracy and carry. OF velocity was 84 mph and there's a lot of upside with his potential. Batting he shows quick hands to the ball with a lot of back spin. His exit velo off a tee was 85 mph with a clean flat barrel through the zone with a high finish.
