PBR sat down with the Miami University recruit for a deeper look inside his recruitment. Here's what we learned.

PBR: When did you start looking into schools?

Sisto: I began looking at schools in the summer of my sophomore year. However, I did not begin the recruiting process until early in my junior year.

PBR: When did you go on your first college visit?

Sisto: Summer/Fall, 2013 - St. John's University

PBR: What did PBR offer you from a recruiting standpoint?

Sisto: PBR has opened the doors for me more than I could have ever imagined. Besides the work I've done on my own throughout the years...PBR has provided me with the necessary recognition and exposure to pursue my dreams of becoming a collegiate, and hopefully one day, a professional ball player. I owe a lot to you guys...I can’t thank you enough.

PBR: What did you like about the PBR events you attended?

Sisto: I liked the efficiency and organization of every event I attended. Especially the big showcase at the end of the summer...It had a very professional feel to It. Every event was filled with collegiate coaches and professional scouts. These events provided immense recognition while also allowing interaction/ competition with players from all around the state.

PBR: Do you think showcases are necessary for players looking to pursue a collegiate baseball career?

Sisto:
Unless you are the next Derek Jeter, one needs to put themselves out there for colleges to see. Especially in our day-and-age where things are so cut-throat and baseball players are a dime a dozen. It is essential for a kid wanting to pursue a future in Baseball to attend showcases like these simply due to the fact that not too many other places provide the amount of exposure PBR does. It is true that talent doesn't go unnoticed. If you got what it takes someone somewhere will find you. But hey, even the next Derek Jeter needs to be put on display.

PBR: How did you land at your commitment?

Sisto: After I had sent Miami an email regarding my interest in their program, I had been in communications with their staff for the majority of my junior summer. It wasn't until Mr. Cevette and PBR New York encouraged Miami's Staff to come out to the 2014's biggest event of the summer on August 16th. After my performance at these Top Prospect Games I not only received attention from the Minnesota Twins representatives, but was able to show the college coaches there that I had what it takes to be a Division 1 player. After some phone calls and a visit to see the campus my mind was set for the next 3 to four years of my life.

PBR: What words of advice would you give for the upcoming classes based on your recruiting experience?

Sisto: I understand how cliche it sounds when someone says, "follow your dreams and never stop working toward your goal" but it's true. There will be times throughout your life were you may believe that it’s all over. It’s not. Your dreams need to be the fuel for your motivation to never give up or give in and always continue to be the best you can be. I know how old that sounds but it really is true. You need to take risks and explore all possibilities all the time. Never settle for less, always strive for more. Don't be afraid to fail and don't be afraid to ask for help. Have a quiet confidence in all that you do. Conduct yourself in a professional manner.  But the one thing that simply triumphs over all others is to never stop reaching for your dreams. Strive for perfection.....fall short.....achieve greatness.
